    The Orchard is looking for a Manager, Theatrical Publicity, Film & TV  to join our Los Angeles office. 

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Director of Theatrical Publicity is a proactive, driven and detail-oriented individual with significant experience in theatrical publicity and marketing campaigns and a strong awareness of the independent film publicity landscape. The individual is responsible for driving strategic PR efforts for The Orchard’s annual theatrical slate.  The position is an important part of a tight-knit team of marketing and publicity professionals.

    • Coordinate talent travel and related talent support issues (booking of flights, cars, hotels, management of per diem, etc.)
    • Spearhead accounting and budgeting processes, including but not limited to creating and tracking publicity budgets, liaising with various vendors to keep line items as cost-effective as possible, validating and consolidating monthly American Express report, and more.
    • Drive key areas of implementation for national and regional publicity campaigns for The Orchard's slate of 8-10 theatrical films per year. 
    • Lead the Orchard awards submissions process, including submission forms, acquiring/submitting various assets, tracking deadlines, coordination of screeners for submissions, etc.  
    • Own and drive the coordination of film premieres, special events and tastemaker screenings, as well as all press days and junkets.
    • Manage and maintain film assets including pulling of clips, stills and formatting and editing press notes.
    • Manage communication and publicity materials delivery for film festival opportunities.
    • Maintain regular contact with filmmakers, talent, and talent representatives regarding travel and event details. 
    • Drive internal Orchard communication processes with other departments, including management of the internal calendar, publicity campaign highlights, and more

     

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in theatrical publicity, ideally in a studio/distributor space
    • Applicants must have an extraordinarily high level of attention to detail, and should be able to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will be self-starters and have a strong work ethic.
    • Highly creative, extremely entrepreneurial, driven and focused – with experience in identifying target audiences and devising marketing campaigns that engage, inform and motivate.
    • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize to tight deadlines and stay focused under pressure.
    • Passionate about independent film.
    • Bachelor’s Degree required.
