    The Orchard has an immediate opening for a Sr. Director, Advertising. The Orchard seeks a motivated individual to lead the Advertising Department with a passion for music, video, and other media. This passion must be personal, but also exist as an academic interest in how these media are positioned within our culture. In this role, you will oversee the advertising department in advancing our groundbreaking services to clients and owned/operated properties. This position reports directly to the SVP, Global Marketing & Business Development.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee and manage the global team responsible for all advertising for The Orchard including digital advertising, traditional advertising, on platform advertising, and out of home advertising
    • Lead the innovation & strategic vision for the department which is a crucial piece of The Orchard’s value proposition for its labels and artists
    • Work with marketing and data teams to track and analyze consumer data and expand the company’s audience development tools and infrastructure
    • Build and maintain relationships with various advertising vendors & partners like Facebook, Spotify, Google, Amazon and more
    • Liaise with sales, marketing, and label management team leads to oversee the creation and execution of media strategies 
    • Be the in house expert on all things advertising related and communicate findings, share case studies, and educate the company and it’s clients on various learnings  
    • Work with internal product teams to launch new iterations of our advertising toolset and continually update our internal and client facing advertising product offerings.
    • Use internal advertising reporting system to provide monthly analytics to global teams, develop best practices, and ensure overall quality of our global advertising and audience development efforts
    • Participate in internal brainstorm sessions, strategy meetings, and client-facing meetings and presentations
    • Oversee all monthly accounting processes

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate must have a general understanding of how digital advertising is part of a company’s ecosystem and can be used to achieve a variety of goals. A penchant for learning, the ability to have macro & micro perspectives as needed, and the intention to clearly communicate with others are absolute requirements.

     

    Further Requirements:

    • 5+ years of advertising experience, ideally within music, film or other media
    • Prior team management required
    • Experience with Spotify advertising, Google tag manager, Facebook advertising, pixels, Google Analytics, audience development & creation platforms, and business intelligence tools
    • Execute ad buying across digital and traditional platforms (Google Adwords, Amazon, TradeDesk, Facebook, OOH among others).
    • Inspiring communicator that can effectively address different kinds of audiences
    • Experience managing budgets and accounting
    • Expertise in media-buying, planning and research
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve problems quickly and with extreme attention to detail
    • Expert understanding of how audience data drives successful paid media campaigns.
    • Understanding of the music-tech landscape
    • Interest in following advertising and media trends and the music industry
    • Working knowledge of media analytics software
    • Ability to collaborate on projects and be a part of a team
    • Fluency in multiple languages is a plus
