Reporting to the VP of Film Acquisitions, the Acquisitions Coordinator will be responsible for tracking, identifying and evaluating content for the Orchard's multi-platform releases. The Coordinator will facilitate the process for film submissions to company by potential clients and will be responsible for upkeep of submissions tracking. Candidate will need to feel comfortable evaluating and screening submitted films and providing feedback to company. The Coordinator will also manage the schedules of the Manager of Acquisitions, Manager of Development, and VP of Acquisitions, setting meetings with sales agents, and organizing festival travel and schedules.   Finally, Coordinator will also be responsible for communicating distribution services provided by company to potential filmmaker clients, sales agents, film reps and foreign distributors. The role will involve working with the Acquisitions team to input essential information about films into CRM, and to work with the legal department to make sure that deal memos are uploaded and key deal points such as bonuses are tracked.   The ideal candidate will have a deep historical knowledge and love of film, as well as the ability to understand the current film distribution landscape and competitive marketplace. Candidate will need to be comfortable speaking with filmmakers about their work and explaining potential distribution options and strategies.

We are looking for an organized, self-motivated Coordinator to join our Rights Management team to help cultivate and scale our Video Services business, executing on a value proposition that drives client satisfaction, engagement, and revenue!   As a Rights Management Coordinator, you’ll work to ensure that our clients’ content is viewed by as many people as possible, earning revenue from viewed ads, and quickly resolve rights issues pertaining to client content. You’re impeccably accurate and detail-oriented while still able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize appropriately. You’re a fearless problem-solver that proactively pinpoints and reports on issues that arise pertaining to your daily tasks, and would love to become familiar with YouTube’s CMS and other streaming platforms. You have a keen eye for data and an appreciation for the spreadsheet, and you’re an excellent communicator who provides a high level of service both internally and externally. As a paid part-time employee for The Orchard, you’ll be an advocate for artists that The Orchard distributes through implementing digital and in-person marketing strategies. You’ll act professionally, courteously and respectfully while you promote 2-4 artists per month in your college town and on campus, as well as one-off promotions as they arise. You’ll be a tastemaker in your market by working with local businesses, record stores, DJs, promoters, campus organizations, etc. and your focus will be on new releases and tour support of an array of artists covering a wide range of genres.
